Can change.
i took insurance certificate course in 1996 and the insured only
need to fill in a new nomination form and submit it. Or any new
will will suffice, if it name a new wife or any other person to be
the beneficiary to the payout.
However, when it says it cannot change, it maybe that its was not
the husband holding the insurance.
It can go something like, You as a wife, buys insurance on your
husband's life. Anything happens to him. The money goes to you.
Period. Just like how you would buy insurance on certain goods. So
if the goods kaputed, you get some $$$ on what you insured
on.
So of course that cannot change. Unless the owner of that insurance
stop payments or discard the policy.
